Sequential Art Alumni Exhibition
Alexander Hall, 668 Indian St., Savannah, Ga.
The exhibitions department showcases the outstanding work of SCAD's sequential art department's alumni. Alumni exhibit works from independent and commercial ventures including Web comics, spreads for the comic book industry, cartooning, illustrating, character design and short story writing and production.

Savannah Scholarship Gala in Savannah
River Club, 3 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Savannah, Ga.
The Savannah College of Art and Design announces its annual Scholarship Gala Saturday, Jan. 24. The evening will feature a silent auction of hand-selected work by SCAD students, alumni, faculty and staff. The Scholarship Gala is the primary scholarship fundraiser for SCAD, and proceeds from the evening will go to the SCAD Scholarship Fund, benefiting future classes of SCAD students. Individual patron tickets are $150 and include cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, live music by the Swinging Medallions and a silent auction with original artwork. Individual VIP reception tickets are $250 and include the added features of a private cocktail party, silent auction preview, buy-it-now option for artwork and premium parking. More than 20 Microtel Inn & Suites will feature a new suite design created from a competition that Microtel sponsored at SCAD-Atlanta in early 2007. Microtel Design Specialist Bijal Patel (M.A., interior design, 2007), a finalist in the competition, directed the incorporation of elements from the three design concepts into the new Microtel prototype. Read . "Highway Miles," a painting exhibition by (B.F.A., painting, 1999), is on display Sept. 6–Oct. 14 at in Atlanta. The exhibition is also a stop on Atlanta’s Castleberry Hill Friday Night Art stroll Sept. 28. |
