Undergraduate metals and jewelry student Grace Kim won the Rado "Women in Design" student competition. She will receive a trip to New York, a Rado watch, and a feature in Elle Décor and the Rado newsletter. Her eyewear design is featured online under the Rado Design Competition link.

Metals and jewelry at SCAD prepares you for a variety of careers in industrial, fine art or small-business settings. Gain a foundation of traditional jewelry, metalsmithing and silversmithing techniques, plus experience in new technologies, concept development, electronic design and rendering as well as production methods.

Metals and jewelry studentAccess a Range of Resources:
  • Facilities for precision casting, finishing, enameling, lapidary, anodizing, CAD/CAM, forming and stone setting processes
  • Tools for 3-D computer modeling and computer numeric controlled programming and milling
  • FDM Prodigy Plus rapid prototyping 3-D printer with capabilities for ABS or wax models of CAD prototypes, and four-axis CNC milling machines
